Learn more about how the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) is moving forward with a $362 million expansion of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. The project will widen the stretch between Downtown Tampa and Gandy Boulevard to the inside, to ease congestion. THEA will also be reconstructing bridges, upgrading infrastructure, and implementing new community spaces beneath the elevated roadway. Funded through toll revenue, the initiative aims to modernize one of the region’s busiest corridors and improve overall traffic flow.
